Relief of Rs 50 lakh for Nashik bus accident victims: CM
Mumbai, Jan 21 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh from the Chief Minister's relief fund for families of the victims and surivors of last night's bus accident in Nashik.
There were 80 pilgrims travelling in the bus, returning after offering prayers to Goddess Saptashrung.
Mr Deshmukh said the families of the dead would get Rs one lakh, while those who have been paralysed will get Rs 50,000, victims with serious injuries would get Rs 25,000 and those with minor injuries will get Rs 10,000.
Most of the accident victims are residents of Worli, Byculla, Kalyan and the amount of Rs 50 lakh has been given to the city District Collector for immediate disbursal to the needy, a statement from Chief Minister's office, issued here today said.
As many as 39 people died were dead and 41 injured in the tragic accident.
