NDA to contest next election under Advani's leadership-Nitish
Patna, Jan 21 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today categorically said the NDA would contest the next Lok Sabha election under the leadership of Mr L K Advani.
Mr Kumar ruled out any confusion over the leadership issue and told mediapersons here that the JD(U), the major ally of the NDA, had accepted Mr Advani as leader.
He said Mr Advani was declared leader with the consent of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and now the next election would be fought under his leadership.
Mr Kumar dubbed the Union government of the UPA as ''disabled'', saying it had failed on all fronts and the NDA was keeping a close eye on the situation.
The alliance was holding meetings at New Delhi to monitor the ''unstable'' political situation as the Central government was facing rough weather.
Regarding the ongoing power crisis, he said an all party meeting would be held on January 29. He further said the government was working on the strategies for strengthening the Panchayati Raj institutions and civic bodies.
