Lecturers threat to boycott exams

Puducherry,Jan 21: The Puducherry State Lecturers Association has threatened to boycott the Plus II practical examinations if the government failed to meet its demands forthwith.

In a statement here today, Association President S K Subramanian and Secretary R Latchumanasamy said the administration agreed to fulfil the demands an year ago, but nothing happened.

The association's demands include amendment of recruitment rules for headmasters of Higher Secondary Schools and the stipulation of 18 classes a week for lecturers who had put in more than 12 years of service among others.

If the government did not fulfil the demands, he said, the association would go ahead with an agitation.
