Former First Lady Usha Narayan's condition critical

New Delhi, Jan 21 : The condition of the wife of former President K R Narayanan, Usha Narayanan, is critical.

Eighty-six-year old Mrs.Narayanan was admitted to the Sri Gangaram Hospital in the capital on December 31 for a blood transfusion due to a severe drop in her haemoglobin level.

The hospital today issued a statement saying that she is on ventilator support.

K R Narayananan served as President of India from July 25, 1997 to July 25, 2002.
