Jayshree Raghuraman new Secy for Woman

New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) Ms Jayshree Raghuraman today took over as Secretary of the Social Welfare and the newly created Woman and Child Development Department.

She comes in place of Mr Gyanendra Srivastav who has superannuated. Prior to this, Ms Raghuraman, an IAS officer, was holding the charge of Director Social Welfare and additional charge of Woman and Child Development.

Elaborating on her priorities, she said all efforts would be made to ensure better outreach and enhance community participation in social welfare sector. New schemes like 'Laadli' would be implemented vigourously. ''It will be my endeavour to give special focus on services related to the department", she added.

She is an IAS officer belonging to the AGMUT Cadre, 1991 Batch.

She has served the Delhi and Goa governments in various posts and has experience in working in field jobs and the Secretariat.
