HAU scientists sanctioned National research project

Chandigarh, Jan 21: The Centre has sanctioned a National network research project entitled "Biotechnological approach towards forage crop improvement" to Dr R.N. Arora and Dr. A S Nandwal of Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar which is tenable for three years.

Dr. R.N. Arora was the senior forage Breeder, Forage Section, Department of Plant Breeding and Dr. A.S. Nandwal was Professor, Plant Physiology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar.

An official spokesman said here that besides, the Department of Biotechnology, Union Ministry of Science and Technology, the Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute {IGFRI) Jhansi and the National Research Centre for Sorghum {NRCS}, Hyderabad would also be collaborating in the Rs 20 lakh project.

He said that Dr. N. Seetharama Director, NRCS, Hyderabad would act as Main Coordinator of this project at National Level while Dr. A. K.

Roy, Professor, IGFRI, Jhansi would act as a Coordinator.
