Goa Governor's office has been politicised: BJYM
Panaji, Jan 21 (UNI) The Goa unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today strongly condemned the ''politicisation of the governor's office by the present Goa regime for its survival''.
The BJYM also criticised the state government's ''anti-student attitude'' as evidenced by its failure to provide computers to XI standard students as promised earlier.
Goa BJYM president Ashish Shirodkar, speaking to reporters here today alleged that the State Governor, who is supposed to be the guardian of the Constitution, is presently acting as ''the custodian and saviour of the ruling party and is working as an agent of the Congress High Command in Goa''.
The Governor has made a mockery of democracy by proroguing the latest session of Goa Assembly to save the Digamber Kamat government from the imminent fall, he alleged.
The Goa BJYM president alleged that the expenses of several crores incurred on the Governor's frequent visits to Nagaland has severely dented the state exchequer.
The BJYM also demanded that the Goa governor be recalled immediately to save democracy in the state.
