Ferrous metals decline on poor buying support

Mumbai, Jan 21 (UNI) Ferrous metals declined today on poor buying support in Delhi and Kolkata, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

Copper heavy and Copper utensils inched down by Rs 200 per quintal on sluggish demand by bulk consumers. Aluminium utensils also fell by Rs 100 per quintal due to lack of fresh demand.

However, Brass utensils and Brass cuttings remained unchanged on moderate demand.

In the non-ferrous metal category, copper wire bar became cheaper by Rs 200 per quintal on heavy selling pressure.

Aluminium ingot, Zinc slab and Lead ingot remained steady on moderate demand.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode were also down by Re 1 and Rs 20 per kg respectively, traders added.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 33,600, copper utensils - Rs 31,500, brass utensils - Rs 24,900, brass cuttings - Rs 25,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,500 per kg.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 36,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 12,100, zinc slab - Rs 12,500, lead ingots - Rs 11,500, tin slab - Rs 780 and nickel cathode - Rs 1,380 per kg.
