DU confers honorary doctorate upon Brown

New Delhi, Jan 21: The Delhi University conferred an honorary Doctorate of Letters(D Litt) upon British Prime Minister Gordon Brown today.

Vice-President Hamid Ansari presented the D Litt (Honouris Causa) degree to the visiting Premier. The function was held in the Delhi University premises amid heavy security restrictions in view of the Republic Day. Mr Brown later inaugurated the UK Sports Initiative at the University ground.

He arrived here yesterday on two-day visit.
