Diarrhoea back in Rayagada district
Jeypore, Jan 21 (UNI) After a brief lull, diarrhoea hit Rayagada town again when about 50 people were admitted to various hospitals with symptoms of suffering from dysentery and nausea yesterday.
According to reports, people from Gopabandhu Nagar, Brhaman street, Dhabi street, Paiko street, Ramkurshana Nagar areas on the banks of the Nagabali river were rushed to local hospitals.
Experts said cholera spores, found a few weeks back in Kasipur and periphery of Rayagada town, could be the reason for reemergence of the disease.
Rayagada Collector B J Sharma directed the health officials to undertake preventive measures and sanitise the affected areas to prevent further spread of the disease.
More than 400 people died in Rayagada and Koraput after Cholera broke out two months ago.
