2 militants killed in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 21: Security forces killed two militants in a fierce encounter in south Kashmir district of Shopian today, official sources said.

They said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and troops launched a joint operation in village Allaepora following a tip-off of militants being present there.

During the operation militants opened fire on security forces. In the retaliatory fire, two militants were killed. The operation was still continuing, they said.
