Two private hospitals remain closed for third consecutive day

Imphal, Jan 20 (UNI) Two major private hospitals in Manipur, the Imphal Hospital and Research Centre and Langol View Clinic, remained closed for the third consecutive day today, following extortion demands from militant groups.

The two hospitals were shut down and no patient was being admitted since the past three days after a militant group demanded money from the two hospitals.

Hospital officials said the patients already admitted were, however, being treated, adding that new patients would not be admitted as the hospitals were not in a position to carry out normal activities.

Meanwhile, following the closure of the hospitals, a huge number of patients had rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and other hospitals.
