patiala tightens hold on Faqir Chand Mittal Trophy

Patiala, Jan 20 (UNI) Patiala tightened their hold on Faqir Chand Mittal Trophy (Punjab Inter-District) with second successive victory, beating the Minor Districts by a huge margin of 155 runs here today at the Dhruv Pandove Stadium.

Patiala won the toss, and batting first, scored 295 for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Ravi Inder (55), Amitoj (51) Ankur Jund (56) scored fluent half centuries to contribute to Patiala's huge total.

For Minor Districts, Rajiv Rishi took 3 for 53, while Pradeep Kumar bagged 2 wickets, conceding 51 runs.

In reply, Minor Districts were bowled out for 140 in 41 overs.

Nakul Chopra was the only Minor Districts batsman who played with great responsibility, scoring 51 runs. The other batsmen succumbed to Patiala's penetrative bowling led by Sarabhjit Ladda, who took 4 for 21, while Ankur Jund got 3 for 21.
