Patel blames Centre for Gujarat's power problems
Ahmedabad, Jan 20 (UNI) Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel today blamed the UPA government at the Centre for power problems of the state.
Mr Patel, in a release here, said Gujarat, along with other Western Indian states, was making progress on the power front but the Congress government at the Centre had connected them with the Northern grid to give facilities to the non-BJP states.
He said when the decision to connect Gujarat to the Northern grid was taken, Chief Minister Narendra Modi had objected to it, but the Central government chose to ignore it.
Mr Patel said the states of North India were getting power supply at the cost of the state.
''Gujarat maintains strict descipline and restraint in power consumption but other states are not observing such restraint. The Central government should ensure that all states follow its power policy,'' he added.
