Moharram observed peacefully in UP
Lucknow, Jan 20 (UNI) Moharram was observed peacefully across Uttar Pradesh today.
Over 500 'tazia' processions were taken out in the state capital alone, police said.
Jharkhand Governor Sibte Razi also participated in a 'tazia' procession taken out in the old city area.
People, especially youth, were seen beating their chest in mourning to the tune of beating drums and chants 'Ya Hussain'.
In a related incident, a seven-year-old boy died after falling from the roof of a house in Agra while watching a 'tazia' procession.
The boy Farhad (7) got a push from back and he fell. He was rushed to hospital, but succumbed later.
