Honour for Brahmos Chief

Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 20 (UNI) Distinguished scientist and Brahmos Aerospace CEO and Managing Director A Sivathanu Pillai has been chosen for the prestigious Dr Y Nayudamma Memorial Award of 2007.

Announcing this to the press here today, Dr Y Nayudamma Memorial Trust Founder and Managing Trustee P Vishnumurthy said Dr Pillai has been chosen for the award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to India's defence research and development.

The award would be presented to Dr Pillai by KCP Limited Chairman and Managing Director V L Dutt at a special function here on February 2.

Dr Pillai would also deliver the 16th Dr Nayudamma Memorial Lecture on ''India-An emerging strategic power.'' The award is given annually to persons who have made significant contribution to the development of science and technology in the country.

Earlier recipients of award include eminent scientists Sam Pitroda and Dr G Madhavan Nair.
