Fire in godowns at Kurla
Mumbai, Jan 20 (UNI) Four godowns and a chawl were gutted in a fire at Kurla in north-east Mumbai early today.
According to the Fire bridge sources, the fire broke out at 0530 hrs at Vatsalya Nagar in Kurla, engulfing the godowns in which plastic, chemicals and leather good were stored.
An adjoining residential chawl was also gutted in the fire. Three people sustained minor injuries, the sources said.
Eight Fire engines and six tankers were engaged in battling the flames, which were extinguished after about three hours.
The cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, the sources added.
Later this afternoon, a minor fire was reported from a residential complex at Nagpada but it was controlled within few minutes.
