Rs 2/kg rice scheme from Apr

Visakhapatnam, Jan 19 (UNI) The Rs two-a-kg rice scheme, to be launched from April one, will cost the state exchequer additional Rs 5,400 crore as subsidy, Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister K V Krishna Reddy said today.

Speaking at a regional conference on civil supplies with district officials here, he said monthly honororium would be paid to fair price shops dealers only after three months of its implementation.

He directed the district administration to ensure its successful implementation.
