Police fired in air to disengage two groups in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 19 (UNI) Police today fired in the air and burst teargas shells to disperse two groups of people who clashed in the down town city this evening.

More than 20 people were injured in the clash which reportedly started after a group of Sunni and Shia sects clashed at Hawal in the down town.

Sources said about a dozen houses and several vehicles were damaged in the clash.

Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the area where the situation is tense.
