Periodical screening necessary to avoid health problems: APJ
Bangalore, Jan 19 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today stressed the need for periodical screening of school children as part of health care to avoid serious problems in future.
Launching an insurance scheme 'Arogya Chethna' for school children here, Mr Kalam said the new insurance programme should also include periodical screening as its policy to take timely measures.
''Healthy mind and body are important for the growth of children and happiness of the family,'' he said.
''I am very happy to know that this insurance scheme will benefit more than one lakh children studying in government schools in differant parts of the city,'' he said.
He said this programme should spread to all parts of the country.
The scheme was implemented by 'Adamya Chethna' in association with the New India Insurance Company.
