Mayawati govt threat to ''democratic society'': SP
Lucknow, Jan 19 (UNI) Denouncing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's decision of booking a Congress MLA, who allegedly assaulted a District Development Officer under SC/ST Act, Samajwadi Party (SP) today claimed she was working with ''political vendetta''.
''Ms Mayawati's intolerance towards any democratic step of the Opposition party is evident when she issued an inquiry against Congress MLA Pankaj Mallik, ''SP state president Rajendra Chaudhary claimed.
''The Chief Minister is a dictator, who is fulfilling her vested interests through corrupt means,'' Mr Chaudhary alleged adding that she had targeted many SP leaders and booked them under Gangster Act in fake cases.
He further blamed Ms Mayawati for dividing society on caste basis, which would lead to communal violence.
The UP government policies are a threat to democratic society and SP would continue its struggle against such a corrupt regime, he underlied.
