FIR against Digvijay Singh, seven others
Bhopal, Jan 19 (UNI) An FIR has been registered against eight people, including former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, former minister Chandra Prabhash Shekhar and a retired IAS officer, by the state's Economic Offences Wing on the directions of a Dewas court.
Police sources confirmed that a case had been registered against eight people, including Mr Singh.
Dewas Special Judge Karuna S Trivedi has underlined the need for a high-level inquiry into a land-related argument on the complaint of Mr Mahesh Garg.
She has directed the Director General (EOW) to investigate the matter and submit a report by February 22.
Mr Garg had lodged a complaint alleging that Mr Singh had helped a private firm to earn profit to the tune of lakhs of rupees.
He made Mr Singh, Mr Shekhar, who was Housing Board Chairman, retired IAS U K Samal, Shivom Estate, Subhash Gupta, two EOW officers Narendra Tiwari and R S Bisen and retired official liquidator S R V V Satyanarayan as accused.
