Doctor arrested on rape charges

Mumbai, Jan 19: Police have arrested a doctor for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl at Goregaon here.

They also arrested the doctor's compounder for abetting the crime.

''The girl was playing nearby last evening, when the compounder, Shankar More, called her to the dispensary saying Dr R S Tiwari wanted to talk to her,'' investigating officer Uttam Abhang told UNI.

The doctor, thereafter, allegedly raped the girl, who has been sent to a hospital for medical examination.
