Cab driver beaten up by private security at airport


Mumbai, Jan 19: Taxi service at the Chhatrapati Shivaji domestic airport was disrupted after a security personnel belonging to a private security service allegedly manhandled and physically assaulted a cab driver here today.

The incident occurred when the taxi of private cab driver, Anand Kumar Chaurasia, hit a barricade at the domestic airport.

''Anand was waiting in a long queue when another private cab driver started honking from the rear. In order to let him pass, Anand moved his cab aside and in the process hit one of the barricades. At this, the security guard from the Bombay Intelligence Service (BIS) grabbed and thrashed him,'' Airport Taxi and Rickshaw Union President Kanhaiya Singh said.

The airport police have registered Anand's complaint, Mr Singh added.
