BEML participates in International Mining exhibition

Kolkata, Jan 19: The BEML Ltd, a 'Mini-Ratna' Public Sector under the Union Mining Ministry, has participated in the International Mining, Exploration Mineral Processing Technology and Machinery Exhibition (IME), being held in the city from January 17-20.

A BEML release issued here today stated that the company, being one of the leading mining and constructioin equipment manufacturers in Asia and holding about 70 per cent of domestic market share, was participating in the exhibition to showcase its capacity in manufacturing the entire range of machinery required by the Mining Sector.

To tap the potential available in the mining operations, the BEML had floated a Joint Venture to take up contract mining through its partners, namely, the Midwest Ltd, Hyderabad and Sumbermitra Jaya of Indonesia.

Through this Joint Venture, the BEML-Midwest Ltd will provide total mining solutions, right from Mine Development to Mine Management and Maintenance.

Presently, the BEML is a Rs 2,600 crore company, engaged in manufacturing entire range of equipment and machinery needed in the core sectors of the economy, including mining and construction, Metro and Railways and Defence.

The BEML has also established a full-fledged Technology Division to provide e-engineering solutions in the areas of CAC, CAM and CAE.

It has also started a trading division to engage in trading activitiers of non-company products.

The company is planning to achieve Rs 5,000 crore turnover in its Golden Jubilee Year - 2013-14. Besides, through its International Division, the company exports its machines to more than 45 countries across the world.
