147 people died in militancy in 2007 in J

Jammu, Jan 19: A total of 147 persons died in militancy related incidents in 2007 in Jammu and Kashmir, official reports said here.

Reports said, in Jammu division, 64 death cases were reported while ex-gratia relief of Rs 16 lakh (Rs one lakh each) was provided to the kin of 16 deceased persons.

However, out of the 59 injured cases, relief worth Rs 36,000 has been paid to 12 persons while five cases of property damage were pending with the concerned authorities.

In Kashmir division, a total of 83 persons lost their lives, the reports confirmed adding that ex-gratia relief of Rs 39 lakh was paid to 39 families of the victims, while out of the 100 injured civilians, Rs 3.32 lakh has been paid to 36 victims.
