SC dismisses petition seeking cancellation of Jogi's bail

New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition, seeking cancellation of bail granted to former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi in Avtar Singh Jaggi murder case.

A bench comprising Justices H K Sema and Markandey Katju dismissed the petition, filed by Satish Jaggi, son of slain NCP leader Avtar Singh Jaggi seeking arrest of Ajit Jogi on the grounds that in the view of his political clout he was in a position to influence and intimidate witnesses in the case.

The petitioner also contended that free and fair trial is not possible in the case as long as Jogi is roaming free.

Amit Jogi, son of Ajit Jogi is the main accused in the case.
