Nashik administration ready to tackle bird flu: Collector
Nashik, Jan 18 (UNI) Considering the alert sounded in Maharashtra on the backdrop of the ''Bird Flu'' scare in West Bengal, the district administration is ready to tackle the disease, District Collector S Chokkalingam said today.
''Because of the earlier outbreak of bird flu in Nandurbar and Jalgaon districts, we are equipped to tackle the disease and have taken precautionary measures this time,'' the collector told a television channel here.
''We are getting reports every week from taluka officers,'' the collector said. Rapid response teams have been formed in every taluka of the district. These teams are headed by Livestock Development Officers.
These people have been trained in all aspects, he informed.
