'Mental Health Care to all patients in J
Jammu, Jan 18 (UNI) Health Secretary K B Jandiyal today said that Primary Health Centres providing mental care would become functionary by the end of this year.
Speaking at a function of DMHP Training Programme of assistant surgeons here, Mr. Jandiyal said, ''Establishing Primary Health Centres in all the districts of the state and providing mental health care to the needy patients, will be the plan in future, which will be fulfilled by the end of 2008.'' The function was organised at Psychiatric Disease Hospital, Jammu in collaboration with NIMHANS Bangalore to conduct intensive psychiatric training of all the doctors of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to meet shortage of psychiatry trained physicians in the rural areas of all the districts.
