CPI(M) condemns Hyundai for 'anti-trade union' tactics
Chennai, Jan 18 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) today condemned the Hyundai car factory management for preventing formation of trade union and sacking those who tried to form union.
In a statement here, CPI(M) Tamil Nadu Secretary N Varadarajan said that after the workers formed the union, the management had sacked eight of its office bearers and this deserved to be condemned.
The management had also removed the union flag and notice board in front of the factory, he said.
When CITU office bearers, led by Mr A Soundararajan, went to the factory to hoist the union flag, they were arrested by the police, Mr Varadarajan said.
He demanded that the DMK Government take immediate action against the management, which deprived the workers of their basic right of forming union.
