65-yr-old man crushed to death by speeding blueline

New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) A 65-year-old man became the year's fourth victim of the capital's dreaded Blueline buses when a speeding bus hit the rickshaw in which he was travelling in Moti Nagar area of West Delhi this morning.

Satya Singh was going to the dispensary with his daughter-in-law on the rickshaw when the blueline, plying on route no 816 (Uttam Nagar to Malkaganj), hit it from behind near Moti Nagar crossing, said a police official.

With the impact the elderly man, a resident of Basai Darapur near Moti Nagar, fell from the rickshaw and came under the rear wheel of the bus.

Singh's daughter-in-law also received minor injuries in the accident.

The driver fled the scene soon after the incident, but the bus had been impounded, the police added.

Earlier, on January 16, 21-year-old Rajendra died after a blueline plying on route no 982 (Sultanpuri to Seemapuri) hit him while waiting for a bus in Adarsh Nagar of North-West Delhi.

On January 14, Pratap (35) was crushed to death in the Uttam Nagar area of West Delhi by a blueline plying on route no 817 (Najafgarh to Inderlok).

On January 12, a 30-year-old cyclist identified as Raja, had died after being hit from behind by a Blueline, plying on route no 301A (Mayur Vihar III to Kashmere Gate ISBT), in the Kalyanpuri area of East Delhi.
