Rajasthan Patrika institutes Karpoor Chandra Kulish award

Bangalore, Jan 17 (UNI) National Hindi daily Rajasthan Patrika has instituted an award in journalism in memory of its founder late Karpoor Chandra Kulish.

Addressing newspersons here today, Rajasthan Patrika Resident Editor N K Tiwari said the award was to honour a journalist striving to keep up social values through the fourth estate.

The award, carrying a purse of 11,000 US Dollars, would be given away for articles published during 2007, highlighting 'human development'. Consolation awards in various streams would also be presented, he said.

Nominees for the awards would be proposed and selected by a jury panel, comprising intellectuals including 'The Hindu' Editor-in-Chief N Ram, Ogilvy and Mather Creative Director Piyush Pandey, 'The Tribune' Chief Editor H K Dua and Rajasthan Patrika Group Editor and Managing Director Gulab Kothari.
