Court summons Live India channel CEO, reporter
New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) A local court today summoned Live India Channel CEO Sudhir Chaudhary and reporter Prakash Singh in connection with the fake sting operation on school teacher Uma Khurana.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjay Jindal issued the summons as Khurana has filed a criminal defamation suit against the above mentioned parties. The court asked all the three to appear before it on April 17.
Khurana's mother had earlier deposed before the court and recorded her statement that her daughter was defamed by the fake sting operation. The sting operation showed Khurana involved in a prostitution racket.
The CEO of the channel could face more trouble as Singh, who was earlier attached to the channel, had also moved an application before the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Alok Aggarwal alleging that the action be also taken against the CEO and other officials of the channel as they were also responsible for editing and airing the operation.
The court is likely to hear the application tomorrow.
