Burglars strike at 2 houses, loot Rs 5 lakh worth valuables
Puducherry,Jan 16(UNI) Burglars struck two houses at Reddiyarpalayam here and decamped with jewellery and cash worth Rs five lakh.
According to police miscreants gained entry into Jesudas Raja's house by breaking open the front door of his house while he was away and decamped with 22 sovereigns of gold and Rs one lakh in cash.
In the second incident, 18 soveregins of gold and silver vessels were stolen from the house of Dr Venkatesh while he was away at Thirukkanur with his wife to celebrate Pongal with his relatives.
Reddiyarpalayam police have registered cases. Fingerprint experts and sniffer dogs were pressed into service.
