Two more nomnations filed for Simaria bypolls

Chatra, Jan 15 (UNI) Two nominations were filed today for the February 4 Simaria Assembly bypolls taking the total to three.

The last date for filing nomination is January 17 and January 21 is the last date for withdrawal.

Sub divisional officer-cum-electoral officer Bhagwan Das here said today that Jaiprakash Singh Bhokta filed his nomination as Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) candidate, whereas CPI(Maoist) ultra Kuldeep Ganjhu filed his nomination as an Independent candidate.

The notification for the bypoll, which was necessitated following the death of BJP's Upendra Nath Das, was issued on January 10.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M) and RJD had announced to extend their support to CPI candidate Ramchandra Ram who had filed his nomination yesterday.

Counting of votes would take place on February 7.
