Trai appoints independent agencies to survey telecom services
New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today said it has appointed independent agencies, on a zonal basis, for undertaking survey and audit and assessment of Quality of Service (QoS) provided by Telecom companies and Broadband Service Providers during this year.
The survey will be for Basic Service (wireline), Basic Service (Wireless)&Cellular Mobile Service and Broadband Service Providers, said a statement.
The focus of the survey will be on assessing implementation and effectiveness of the 'Telecom Consumers Protection and Redressal of Grievances Regulations, 2007'.
It will also look at customer perception of service and the audit and assessment of QoS for basic service will be undertaken on sample basis.
The audit and assessment of quality of service through independent agencies will enable TRAI to have independent assessment of the service provided by companies.
TRAI had a meeting with all the service providers and survey/ audit agencies on 8th January this year to clear any ambiguity in understanding the procedure of survey/audit.
The work on survey, audit and assessment of QoS will commence in January, 2008.
