Three of a family killed in lorry-motor cycle collision

Belgaum, Jan 15 (UNI) In a tragic incident three persons, including two children, of the same family were killed on the spot and two others were injured when a speeding lorry hit the motorbike from behind on NH 4 near Bagewadi, about 14 kms from here today.

A five-member family, that included husband, wife and three small children, were returning to Bagewadi after visiting nearby Badekolla math, a religious place, on their motorcycle after offering puja on the occasion of Makara Sankranti festival today when this incident occurred, police said.

The killed were identified as Nagendragouda M Patil (40), Sanket Patil (3), Soukhya Patil (6).

The injured Shreyanka Patil and Shrishail Patil have been admitted to civil hospital Belgaum. A case is registered at Hirebagewadi police station.
