Teacher attacks student with knife
Nashik, Jan 15 (UNI) A seven-year-old boy was seriously injured when his teacher, who is reportedly suffering from some mental illness, attacked him with a knife at Malegaon.
Sajeda Mohammed Issaq (31), a teacher at Chirag Primary School, took Shoaib Sharif, a student of standard I, to Pawarwadi yesterday and attacked him with a knife, sources said.
Shoaib suffered injuries on his hand and neck. The teacher left the injured boy on the spot and fled. Two passers-by saw wounded Shoaib and took him to his home, sources added.
Shoaib's uncle, Mohammed Hanif Mohammed Hussain, lodged a complaint with police and a case was registered under sections 326, 324 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following which Sajeda was arrested.
Sajeda is suffering from some mental illness. She had absented herself from the school for five to six years because of the illness, and had recently been re-inducted. Sajeda was immediately suspended after the incident.
