RPL completes 82% work on Jamnagar refinery
New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) Reliance Petroleum Limited (RPL) today said it has completed 82 per cent of its refinery construction in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Jamnagar, which will be commissioned before December this year.
During the quarter, the project engineering activities along with all the drawings for concreting, structural steel, underground piping as well as electrical and instrumentation were completed on time, while residual engineering activities to support ongoing construction are still underway.
''We are well on the way to create history by successfully completing the refinery ahead of its initial schedule. RPL is poised to benefit from emerging opportunities in the sector and create superior value for its shareholders,'' Reliance Petroleum Chairman, Mukesh Ambani said in a statement.
The refinery in which US energy giant, Chevron has a five per cent stake, is poised to be one of the biggest refineries in the world.
