Mayawati's birthday celebrated in K'taka

Bangalore, Jan 15 (UNI) On the occasion of the 52nd birthday of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati financial assistance was given to 60 poor women as part of 'Aarthik Sahayog Divas' here today.

The State unit of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) which had organised the celebration distributed Rs 5000 each as financial assistance to the poor women belonging to different communities in the city.

Speaking on the occasion state BSP unit president Marasandra Muniyappa said Mayawati had emerged as the saviour of the downtrodden as well as poorer sections of the society.

Rajya Sabha member and BSP state party observer Veer Singh and other party leaders were present on the occasion.
