JK Lakshmi's net up 11% to Rs 61 cr
New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd today said its net profit has gone up by 11 per cent to Rs 61.10 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 55.06 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company's turnover has gone up 25 per cent to Rs 325 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 as against Rs 261 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, a statement said.
The company's operating profit has increased by 20 per cent to Rs 86.52 crore for the period as against Rs 72.14 crore in the same period last year.
The company, which has declared an interim dividend of 10 per cent, also recorded an eight per cent increase in the sales for the third quarter.
JK Lakshmi's Managing Director Vinita Singhania said, ''The increase in capacity from 3.5 million tonne to five million tonne is being done at a very low capital cost of Rs 2,000 per tonne as against Greenfield cost of Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,000 per tonne.'' UNI SG PBB RS2010
