Jharkhand celebrate Tusu with traditional gaiety

Jamshedpur,Jan 15 (UNI) Jharkhand today observed its own Tusu festival on Makar Sankranti with tradtional enthusiasm and gaiety.

Tribals and moolvasis offered puja to Tusu deity and various cultural programmes and traditional dances were performed at many places.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) MP from Jamshedpur Suman Mahto inaugurated ''Tusu Mela'' at ''Dumohani'', the confluence of river Subarnarekha and Kharkai in Sonari the area here. JMM vice-president Champai Soren, party leader Mohan Karmakar were also present on the occasion.

Thousands of people thronged at Dumohani and took a holy dip in the river.
