Immunization Certificate must for residents to get ration cards
Chandigarh, Jan 15 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration has decided to make it compulsory for people who sought fresh or renewal of ration cards to produce Immunization Certificate of their children.
This had been done to promote immunization against six vaccine preventable diseases in the children upto five years and achieve 100 per cent coverage.
Union Territory Home Secretary Krishna Mohan said the production of immunization certificate would be essential for addition of name of any child upto five years in the ration card.
Mr Mohan said people should encourage the immunization drive as their support was essential to achieve this noble objective.
He said the beneficiary, who has no record of immunization of his child at the time of applying for fresh or renewal of ration card, would be required to get his child immunized before his application was accepted.
