HP-Government to protect environment of Kullu-Dhumal

Kullu, Jan 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Government is keen to protect the environment and natural beauty of Kullu valley, and would extend full cooperation to do the needful.

Addressing a public gathering today here Chief Minister Prem Dhumal said that taking all other aspects of the tourism development in to consideration, government will also give boost to rural tourism and eco-tourism.

Chief minister today here dedicated the Tourist Adventure lodge within the Western Himalayan Mountain Institute Campus completed at a cost of Rs. 98 lacs to the adventure sports lover of the country.

''Kullu-Manali are prominent destination of state and attracting people from all-over the world and in order to preserve the nature and ecology of the valley, local people should come forward and contribute actively towards betterment of valley,'' he said.

Mr Dhumal said the natural wealth needed to be exploited in such a way that the originality and ecology of the State was protected.

''Development at the cost of environment would not be adequate.

if required, the State Government would include the name of the institute in the official website of tourism so that it could be one of the tourism points for which more attraction would be added in campus,'' he asserted.
