Sahitya Akademi fellowship to Kakanadan, Govinda Pillai

Thrissur, Jan 14 (UNI) Literary personalities Kakanadan and P Govinda Pillai were selected for last year's Kerala Sahitya Akademi fellowship.

Speaking to reporters here, Akademi President M Mukundan said the fellowship would carry a cash award of Rs 50,000, plaque and two sovereigns of gold.

Novelist P Valsala and short story writer U A Khader would be recognised for their all-round contribution to Malayalam literature.

The award for them would include Rs 20,000 and a plaque.
