Parents kill child, commits suicide

Sambalpur, Jan 14 (UNI) A couple killed their only son and then committed suicide by hanging from a tree.

The tragic incident took place at Bargarh, 50 km from here last night.

Police said the couple-Chunilal Sahu and Labnya Sahu killed their two year old son Giridhari and then committed suicide.

The bodies of the couple were found hanging from the tree. The police later found the body of the child from the house.

Bargarh Superintendent of police Sanjiv Panda said the child died of poisoning. Chuninal belonged to Dhusudi village of Nuapara district and worked as a chowkidar in closed saw mill near station para.

In similar incident in August last year a couple killed their two sons and a daughter in Bargarh and later committed suicide.
