Need for more institutes of excellence: Kakodkar
Mumbai, Jan 14 (UNI) Emphasising on the problem of accessibility, Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar today said there is a need to increase the number of institutions of excellence.
Dr Kakodkar made the observation while inaugurating the three-day International VC Conclave at the Indian Institute of Technology in Powai, here.
Stating that the fast growing Indian economy is posing requirements and creating opportunities in a number of areas, Dr Kakodkar said, ''Challenges and opportunities in human resources are most crucial. We need several important ideas but, more importantly we need people to implement them.'' Dr Kakodkar urged the Institute students to take a global view of things in the changing scenario and stressed that being global was necessary, particularly in the field of education.
