Minister denies crime rate in Kerala surpasses other cities
Kannur, Jan 14 (UNI) Rejecting the recent survey that Kerala had the highest crime rate in the country, State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said such a remark was published because all the cases were registered in the State.
Inaugurating Valapattanam police station building, near here, he said the assessment should not be based on the number of cases registered and claimed that a survey revealed that the law and order situation in the State was the best in the country.
Stating that attack on houses was not a healthy sign, the minister said all political parties should stop indulging in violence.
Mr Balakrishnan said the community police system would be implemented this month.
