Dev Anand will be honoured with 'Lifetime Achievement Award'

Bangalore, Jan 143 (UNI) 'Evergreen' film star Dev Anand will be felicitated with a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' for his outstanding conribution to the film industry.

Vinmusi Club, a cultural organisation will be honouring the living legend Padma Bhushan Dev Anand on January 19 at Gayatri Vihar in Bangalore Palace grounds.

To mark the occasion, the contribution of Mr Dev Anand with 'Gaatha-rahe Mera Dil'-a musical journey with selected songs and clippings from some of his best films has also been arranged.

Former Chief Justice of High Courts of Kerala and Karnataka Justice V S Malimath will preside over the function to be inaugurated by scion of Mysore Royal family Srikantadatta Wodeyar.

Talking to newsmen here today, Vinmusi Club General Secretary S Bali said that the event was held jointly with Ramya Cultural Academy and it may be first of its kind in the history of Karnataka.

Replying to a question, he said that " we wanted to honour 'The Indian Movie Icon' for his great contribution to the film industry as an Actor, Director, Producer and Writer for over six decades.
