All villages to be connected by HRTC : Transport Minister

Dharamshala, Jan 14 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Transport Minister Kishen Kapoor today said that despite increasing deficits in Himachal Pradesh Roadways Transport Corporation (HRTC), all small hamlets in the hill state would be connected with bus services.

Talking to the media persons in Kangra town this afternoon, The transport minister said that HRTC was in a bad shape, and buses which should have been off roads after covering seven lakh km were still plying.

''It is regrettable that common people are traveling in risky buses,'' he said.

''No replacement of buses has been effected in the HRTC fleet during the last five years. However, the present government, within its limited resources would make efforts to replace the less efficient buses'', Mr Kapoor said.
